Kindred Spirits Homeschool Enrichment Group is a homeschool community created to help families connect, learn, and grow together. Our goal is to provide affordable enrichment opportunities, hands-on classes, community events, field trips, and family-centered experiences for homeschool families.
We believe homeschooling is easier when families have support, encouragement, friendship, and a place to belong. Our heart is to help families “find their village” while giving students opportunities to explore new interests, try new skills, and build confidence.
Kindred Spirits is built around community, flexibility, affordability, and connection.
We believe every homeschool family is different, and our goal is not to replace your homeschool curriculum or tell families how to homeschool. Instead, we offer enrichment opportunities that allow students to explore topics, meet other students, and enjoy hands-on learning in a group setting.
Our classes and events are designed to be welcoming, practical, affordable, and flexible so families can choose what fits their schedule, budget, and interests.
Our classes are enrichment-based. They are intended to expose students to different topics, ideas, and hands-on experiences within a subject area.
These classes are not intended to replace a full curriculum, provide academic credit, or serve as tutoring. Instead, they give students a chance to explore interests, participate in group learning, try new activities, and connect with other homeschoolers.
No. Kindred Spirits does not currently offer tutoring, academic intervention, or test prep services.
Our classes are two-hour enrichment classes that meet once a month. They are designed to give students exposure to different subjects and hands-on learning experiences, but they are not structured as one-on-one tutoring or test preparation.
Our instructors are homeschool parents, community members, and individuals with a passion, skill, or interest in the subject they are teaching. They are not necessarily licensed teachers.
Each class is created with our homeschool families in mind and is designed to be hands-on, engaging, and affordable. We are thankful for the parents and community members who share their time, creativity, experience, and interests with our students.
Our current classes are hosted at Strawberry Roan Farm in Dahlonega, Georgia.

Our enrichment classes meet once a month for two hours.
Families register in three-month session increments. This allows students to enjoy a consistent class experience while still keeping things flexible for families.

Families choose the class or classes that best fit their student’s age, interests, schedule, and budget.
No. Kindred Spirits is not a program in the traditional sense, and it is not a full-day or ongoing drop-off program.
We offer individual two-hour class blocks that families may choose to register for. Families sign up only for the classes they want, rather than enrolling in a full program.
Parents may choose to drop off their student for the specific class block they are registered for and run an errand or such while their student is in class. Families are also welcome to remain on site during classes, however in vehicles, at front of property or in designated areas only as to not disrupt classes.
Yes. Parents may stay on site, but we ask that parents remain either in their vehicles or toward the front/designated area of the property.
This helps limit distractions for students and instructors. Additional adults walking around, visiting near class areas, or moving in and out of learning spaces can unintentionally disrupt the class environment and create behavior challenges. Our goal is to keep the learning space calm, focused, and successful for the students.
Yes! We love volunteers.
If you are interested in helping with classes, events, field trips, setup, cleanup, organizing, or behind-the-scenes support, please reach out to one of us. We are happy to plug families in where there is a good fit.

Yes. In addition to classes, we offer Tuesday events and field trip-style activities throughout the year.
Some Tuesday events may include things like woodworking, park exploration, hands-on activities, community outings, and seasonal experiences. Some events have a minimal cost, while others require registration simply so we have an accurate headcount and do not leave anyone behind unknowingly.

No. Families are welcome to choose what works best for them.
Some families may only attend classes. Others may join field trips, holiday events, trips, or special gatherings. Our goal is to offer a variety of opportunities so families can participate in the ways that fit their schedule, budget, and season of life.
Even when an event is free or very low cost, registration helps us keep an accurate headcount.
This is especially important for field trips, group activities, park meetups, tours, and events where we need to communicate with a location, prepare supplies, or make sure we know who is attending.
No. Because many of our classes and events require advance planning, instructor preparation, supply purchases, or location commitments, refunds are not given.

Our group is designed for families who are willing to participate respectfully, help create a positive environment, and understand that our offerings are community-based enrichment opportunities rather than a traditional school or drop-off program.
We want Kindred Spirits to be a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for students, parents, instructors, volunteers, and host locations.
Students are expected to participate respectfully, follow instructions, and treat others kindly. Parents are expected to remain responsible for their children and help support a positive group environment.
If behavior becomes disruptive or unsafe, a parent may be asked to step in and assist their child.
Our class options vary by session, but we typically offer classes for elementary-age students, middle/high school students, and at least one mixed-age option on each class day.
Elementary classes are generally designed for younger students, while middle/high school classes are designed for older students who are ready for more advanced discussion, independence, or hands-on work.

We understand that homeschool students do not always fit neatly into grade-level boxes. Some students may be ready for an older class, while others may benefit from staying with a younger group.

We want Kindred Spirits to be a welcoming place for homeschool families, including students with different learning styles, needs, personalities, and abilities.
Because our classes are community-based enrichment classes and not therapeutic, clinical, or special education services, parents should consider whether the class environment is a good fit for their child. If your student may need extra support, help with transitions, behavior support, personal care, or one-on-one assistance, a parent or caregiver may need to remain available to help.
We are happy to talk through class expectations when possible so families can make the best decision for their student.
Most basic class supplies are included unless otherwise stated in the class description.
Some classes may ask students to bring specific items from home, wear certain clothing, or purchase additional materials if needed. Any special supply needs will be listed with the class or event details whenever possible.

For most classes, it is helpful for students to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing that can handle hands-on activities. Some classes may involve art supplies, outdoor exploration, farm activities, cooking, science experiments, tools, or messy projects, so families should dress students accordingly.
Parents are not automatically required to help during class, but we may occasionally ask for parent volunteers depending on the activity, class size, age group, or event.
